When Diane* began working with HELP, she was facing numerous challenges. One of her significant issues was having to sell her house because she could no longer afford the payments. Fortunately, a compassionate patrol officer stepped in to help. He connected Diane with a realtor who agreed to handle the sale pro bono and even assisted with cleaning up her yard to make the house more marketable.
Recognizing Diane's need for additional support, the officer reached out to the HELP unit to see if they could provide resources for moving her belongings to her new home. In response, HELP coordinated with a local church, which rallied its congregation. Six church members, along with HELP staff and two patrol officers volunteered their own time, and helped Diane get settled into her new place.
Diane was deeply grateful and moved by the generosity of both the EPS members and the church group.
