Since the suicide of a close family member, Jennifer has struggled with addictions.
Her volatility necessitated repeated responses from a minimum of four responders. However, along her journey, she recognized the need for change and has embarked on the path to recovery and sobriety. Her first attempt at treatment faltered, leading to drug use and new legal charges. The next day, filled with remorse and disappointment over her relapse, Jennifer reached out to the HELP team. This moment marked a turning point as she actively confronted her legal challenges, collaborating with her lawyer, involving her family, her addiction counselor from AHS, and the supportive HELP team. Jennifer took responsibility for her actions by surrendering herself for outstanding warrants. Since her release, she has diligently fulfilled her community service hours. Recently, she successfully finished a six-week treatment program and graduated.
Throughout her journey, Jennifer maintained contact with the HELP team, expressing that she now feels empowered and in control of her life. While she understands this is just the beginning of a long process, she approaches the future with optimism, cherishing her family and, above all, her son. Together, they have recently moved into their own place. The HELP team has been a constant source of encouragement for Jennifer, providing ongoing support through conversations and referrals.
