Brooke's Story

Brooke mentioned to her Navigator that she was six months pregnant, and not connected to any medical supports. It was clear she was worried for her baby. Brooke’s Navigator explored the options with her, after which she connected her to the H.E.R. Pregnancy Program where she was immediately accepted and assigned a nurse. Brooke was then provided the contact information for the program, along with other relevant resources. Since Brooke was being remanded, she consented for her Navigator to convey the relevant information to the Edmonton Remand Centre social workers. The social workers agreed to follow up with Brooke and her assigned nurse who would be visiting her at the Remand Centre in the coming weeks.
