Amber's Story

The HELP team took a call that initially came in as a check on welfare requested by Amber’s worker, but when her Navigator arrived, they saw clear signs of domestic violence. Amber had bruising all over her body and her boyfriend was arrested for assault. The HELP Navigation Team was able to work together to support her by getting her statements and coordinating with her housing worker to arrange for safety planning which included a potential new site for her to stay and obtaining her birth certificate.
